I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix ) K% A1 V: k3 T& S' m" Z0 a# O$ I+ k( r8 u: g
